GVIS-SXX-D
GranuleVideoInspecingSystem
The Granule Visual Inspection System (GVIS-SXX-D), which captures images of foreign particles or hair included in granules falling in the form of a thin layer, enables highly accurate inspection. This very unique method of inspecting free-falling granules prevents overlooking foreign particles hidden among overlapping granules. A small amount of granules containing the detected foreign particles can be removed by suction in a split second. Employing two CCD line sensor cameras, the GVIS-SXX-D achieves two-fold processing capacity compared to the former model (GVIS-SXX).

Fine granules, granules
Single color (bright colors including white, yellow, pink etc.)
under phi1.5 mm
Foreign particles (of different color brightness), discolored granules, hair, metal fragments
Defects equivalent to a 100 μm square or larger black speck Varies according to shape and diameter of granules and processing capacity
Fine granules: 10-80 kg/h
Granules: 20-100 kg/h
Varies according to shape and diameter of granules and processing capacity

     Features of the System
The optical fiber linear illumination which provides uniform lighting and the high-resolution CCD line sensor camera enable highly accurate inspection: foreign particles equivalent to a 100 μm square black speck included in the free-falling granules can be detected. Addition of new inspection parameters and algorithms improves inspection accuracy for long foreign particles such as hair and fibers.
Inspection conditions (sensitivity, parameters for judgment) can be registered by users in advance: the conditions are automatically set when a granule code is selected.
The user-friendly touch panel makes input/output operations easy and simple. Information generated during inspection, alarm messages, etc. are easier to understand, allowing operators to take most appropriate actions in a more proper manner.
The dual-line inspection means high processing capacity: inspection of up to 100 kg of granules per hour can be achieved.
Self-diagnosis functions well established by Kanebo's appearance inspection systems for other types of pharmaceuticals are incorporated. Inspection results including the number of defects by defective factor and defective rate can be printed out on A-4 size paper. This data can be effectively utilized for quality control.
By minimizing the area where granules are held, the risk of cross-contamination is significantly reduced. The cleaning unit can be easily and quickly detached without using any tools.
The rejecter unit which employs a suction shutter system eliminates a small amount of granules containing a defects in a high-speed and highly reliable manner (0.5 g of granules eliminated at the a processing capacity of 10 kg per hour).
The vibratory feeder, which supplies granules in the form of a thin layer at a constant rate without clogging, and the cleaning mechanism allow unattended operation of the system for prolonged periods.
Regardless of the state of materials, i.e. whether they are raw materials, half-finished or finished products, the system can inspect granular materials with high accuracy. Therefore the system can be applied to food, chemical products and a wide range of other materials.
By controlling feed rate, total inspection of granules in the form of a uniform thin layer is possible.
